How to Analyze Revenue Sources and Payment Methods

Overview

Understanding where your revenue comes from (Dine-in, Delivery, etc.) and how customers pay helps in making strategic decisions about service focus and payment gateway requirements.

Prerequisites

  • Subscription Plan: Plus or Max
  • User Permission Required: view_financial_reports

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Locate Revenue by Service Type Find the donut chart labeled Revenue by Service Type on the dashboard.

  2. Interpret the Service Data

    • The chart segments revenue into categories such as Take Away, Delivery, or Dine-in.
    • Action: Hover over a specific section (e.g., Take Away) to see:
      • Revenue: Total amount generated by this service.
      • Number of Orders: Count of orders for this service.
      • Average Order Value: The average spend per order for this service type.
  3. Locate Payment Method Analytics Find the ring chart labeled Payment Method Analytics.

  4. Review Payment Breakdown Analyze the distribution of payment types:

    • Card/Credit/Debit: Shows total volume and number of transactions paid electronically.
    • Cash: Shows total volume of cash transactions.
    • Customer Credit: Shows transactions settled via customer tabs or dues (ledger).
    • Split: Shows orders paid using a combination of methods (e.g., part cash, part card).

Outcome

You will identify your most profitable service channels and preferred customer payment methods, enabling better resource allocation and financial planning.
