Serving Zones & Tables

This module maps your restaurant's physical layout into the system so you can manage dine-in seating, QR code ordering, and POS table selection.

Overview: Serving Zones & Tables

Hierarchy:

  1. Floor/Section: High-level area (for example, Ground Floor, Patio, First Floor).
  2. Table: The specific seating unit within that floor (for example, Table 1, Table 2).

When configured, waiters can select a table on the POS and customers can scan table-specific QR codes to order from their phones.

Part 1: Floor Management (Sections)

Location: Back Office > Operations > Serving Tables > Sections

Before adding tables, define the areas where they are located.

  1. Initiate: Click (+) ADD TABLE.
  2. Enter Details:
    • Table Name: Enter the number or name (for example, Table 4).

    • Floor: Select the section you created in Part 1 (for example, Second Floor).
  3. Save: Click ADD.

Generating QR Codes for Tables

Objective: Print a QR code that customers can scan to view the menu and order directly from their phone.

  1. Locate Table: Find the specific table in the list.
  2. Click QR Icon: Click the Black/Dark QR Code Icon in the Actions column.
  3. Preview & Download:
    • A popup shows the unique QR code for that specific table.
    • Click DOWNLOAD_QR to save the image file.
    • Print this and stick it on the physical table.

Editing or Deleting Tables

  • Edit: Click the Blue Pencil Icon to change seat capacity or move the table to a different floor.
  • Delete: Click the Red Trash Icon to remove the table from the system.

Best Practices

  • Use clear names for floors (for example, "Patio - West") to avoid confusion when selecting tables.
  • Set realistic seat capacities to help hosts allocate seating and avoid overbooking.
  • Print and laminate QR codes; include an outlet identifier in the QR filename for multi-outlet setups.
