How to Add a New Payment Method

Overview

If you start accepting a new form of currency, integrate a new payment gateway, or partner with a new delivery aggregator, you need to add it to the system to track those payments separately.

Prerequisites

  • User Permission Required: manage_payment_methods
  • Access: Admin or Manager role

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Navigate to Payment Methods Go to Platform Settings > Payment Methods.

  2. Initiate Creation Click the blue (+) Plus button located next to the search bar.

  3. Enter Payment Details A "Add Payment Method" popup window will appear. Fill in the following details:

    • Payment Method Name: Enter a clear name (e.g., "Bitcoin", "Gift Voucher", "Talabat").
    • Status:
      • Select Active to make it immediately available for use on the POS.
      • Select Inactive if you are setting it up for future use.
    • Payment Type: Select the appropriate category from the dropdown:
      • Cash: Physical currency.
      • Online: Credit cards, digital wallets, or bank transfers.
      • Due: For credit sales or ledger accounts.
      • Loyalty: For payments made using loyalty points.
    • Payment Status Type: Define how this affects the balance:
      • Paid: The transaction is considered settled immediately.
      • Credit Due: The transaction creates a balance owed by the customer.
    • Description: (Optional) Enter notes explaining when to use this method.
  4. Save Click the Save button to create the new payment method.

Outcome

The new payment method will appear in the list and will be available for selection on the POS payment screen (if set to Active).
