Menu Items (Products)
Overview
Menu Items (Products) are the master list of everything sold on the POS. Each product ties together Category, Recipe (inventory mapping), Variations, Pricing, and Modifiers.
Guide 1: How to Add a Simple Product (No Variations)
- Initiate: Click (+) ADD PRODUCT.
- Basic Info:
- Name: Enter Item name (e.g., Grilled Salmon).
- Category: Select from Menu Categories.
- Menu Type: Select Regular.
- Visuals & Tags:
- Image: Upload a photo for the POS tile.
- Vegetarian: Check to display the Veg icon.
- Pricing:
- Enter Base Product Prices for Dine-in, Delivery, and Take-away as needed.
- Inventory Mapping (Recipe):
- In the "Recipe" dropdown, select the Recipe to ensure correct stock deduction.
- Assign Modifiers:
- Click Assign Modifiers and select applicable modifiers.
- Save: Click ADD PRODUCT.
Guide 2: How to Add a Product with Variations (Sizes/Flavours)
- Basic Setup: Fill Name and Category as usual.
- Enable Variations: Check Has Variations.
- Add Variation (e.g., Small):
- Click (+) Add Variation.
- Enter Name (Small), Prices, and select the Recipe for this variation.
- Add Additional Variations: Repeat for Medium/Large.
- Save: Click ADD PRODUCT.
Guide 3: Managing Products
- Search: Use the search bar to find items quickly.
- Edit: Click the Pencil Icon to change prices, recipes, or images; click SAVE.
- Delete: Click the Trash Icon to remove the item from the menu (historical sales remain).
Notes & Best Practices
- Map every sellable product to a recipe when possible to maintain accurate inventory.
- Use Variations sparingly and keep recipes consistent to avoid duplicate inventory mappings.
