Recipes Management

Overview: Recipes Management

The Recipes module connects your Ingredients (raw materials) with your Menu Items (what you sell). Defining recipes enables automatic inventory deduction when an item is sold and supports accurate recipe costing.

Types of Recipes

  1. Regular Recipe: A standard dish composed of raw ingredients.
    • Example: A "Chicken Burger" uses 1 Bun, 1 Chicken Patty, and 10g Lettuce.
  2. Combo Recipe: A bundle made up of existing Regular menu items.
    • Example: A "Burger Meal" contains 1 Chicken Burger + 1 Fries + 1 Soda.

  • To Delete: Click the Red Trash Can Icon, confirm in the Delete Confirmation popup. Note: deleting a recipe removes the inventory mapping but does not automatically remove any menu item.

Best Practices

  • Keep ingredient units and conversion factors up to date to ensure accurate cost calculations.
  • Use Regular recipes as building blocks for Combo recipes to avoid duplication.
  • Add clear cooking instructions for frontline kitchen staff when recipes are complex.
