Menu Categories

Overview

Categories are high-level groups used to organise the POS (e.g., Starters, Main Course, Drinks, Desserts). Categories also control loyalty settings like points earning and redemption.

Guide 1: How to Add a Menu Category

  1. Initiate: Click the blue (+) ADD button in the Menu Categories area.
  2. Category Details:
    • Category Name: e.g., Seafood.
    • Description: Optional internal notes.
  3. Loyalty Settings (Crucial):
    • Exclude from Coins Earning: Check to prevent earning loyalty points on this category.
    • Exclude from Coins Redemption: Check to prevent redemption on this category.
  4. Save: Click ADD.

Guide 2: Edit or Delete a Category

  • To Edit: Click the Pencil Icon, change the fields, and click UPDATE.
  • To Delete: Click the Trash Icon and confirm the deletion. Deleting a category will not delete menu items but will unassign their category.

Notes & Best Practices

  • Use categories to simplify POS navigation and to control loyalty applicability per item group.
  • Keep category names short and meaningful for easy selection on POS.
