Inventory Management (Item Definition)

Overview

This screen defines what you stock (the master list of inventory items). Actual quantities are managed via Purchases, Stock Adjustments, and Transfers.

Guide: Creating an Inventory Item

  1. Add Item: Click (+) ADD INVENTORY.
  2. Enter Details:
    • Name: e.g., Tomato, Burger Bun.
    • Description: Optional (e.g., Locally sourced).
    • Category: Select the inventory category.
  3. Save: Click ADD.

Note: Creating the item profile does not add quantity. To add stock, use the Purchase or Stock Adjustment workflows.

Managing Items

  • Edit: Click the Pencil Icon to update item metadata.
  • Delete: Click the Trash Icon to remove an item (only allowed if there are no stock/batch records tied to it).
