Order Management Overview

What is Order Management?

Once an order is placed on the POS, it moves to the Order Management dashboard. This centralized screen allows the front-of-house staff to control the flow of orders to the kitchen, ensuring that food preparation only begins when verified.

Key Concepts

  • Pending Status: The initial state of an order immediately after being placed on the POS. It requires staff verification before going to the kitchen.
  • KOT (Kitchen Order Ticket): The physical or digital document sent to the kitchen staff detailing items to be cooked.
  • Multi-Kitchen Routing: The system's ability to automatically split an order and send items to their respective stations (e.g., Bar vs. Kitchen).

Workflow

  1. Order Placed: Order arrives from POS, Online Ordering, or Aggregators.
  2. Verification: Staff reviews and confirms the order.
  3. Preparation: KOT is printed, and kitchen status changes to "Preparing".
  4. Completion: Order is marked ready and served/delivered.
