How to Confirm an Order and Generate KOT

Overview

All orders placed via the POS or online channels initially appear in the Order Management screen with a Pending status. You must confirm these orders to generate a Kitchen Order Ticket (KOT) and signal the kitchen to start cooking.

Prerequisites

  • User Permission Required: manage_orders, print_kot
  • Hardware: Connected KOT printers

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Locate the Pending Order On the Order Management screen, look for the order card with the Pending (Orange) status tag.

    • Tip: The card displays the Order ID, Service Type (e.g., Pick_up, Dine-in), and Total Amount.
  2. Confirm the Order Click the blue Confirm button on the order card.

  3. KOT Preview A popup window labeled "Multi-Kitchen KOT Print" will appear.

    • This shows how items are routed (e.g., items listed under "Main Kitchen" vs "Bar").
  4. Print Ticket Click the green Print KOT button.

    • A preview of the slip will appear containing the Table No/Service Type, Order ID, and specific items.
    • The physical ticket will print to the designated kitchen printers.
  5. Close & Verify Close the print popup.

    • Status Change: The order status on the dashboard will instantly change from Pending to Confirmed (Blue).
    • New Options: New buttons will appear on the card:
      • Preparing: To track kitchen progress.
      • Pay Now: To settle the bill.

Outcome

The order is officially in progress. The kitchen has their instructions, and the system tracks the time from confirmation to completion.
