Finalizing and Placing the Order

Overview

Once items are selected and the customer is assigned, the final step is to process the order. You can send it to the kitchen immediately, save it as a draft, or schedule it for the future.

Prerequisites

  • User Permission Required: pos_access

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Order Notes If there is a note for the entire order (not just one item), click the "Special Instructions" button (clipboard icon) and type the note.

  2. Future Booking To schedule this order for a later date:

    • Click the Calendar Icon.
    • Select the date and time.
    • Click Confirm.
  3. Save as Draft If the customer isn't ready to order yet:

    • Click Save as Draft.
    • You can retrieve this later from the "View Drafts" menu.
  4. Complete Order

    • Place Order: Initiates the standard checkout flow (Payment selection -> Print).
    • Quick Order: Bypasses certain prompts for immediate processing (useful for fast food/high traffic environments).

Outcome

  • Place/Quick Order: The order moves to the Order Management dashboard with a PENDING status. You must then confirm it to generate a KOT.
  • Draft/Future: The order is saved in the system but not sent to the kitchen until activated.
