Simple Invoice Template Editor

Overview

The Simple Invoice Template Editor helps businesses create and manage invoice templates in the Unidiner back office.

Invoice templates control how invoice information is displayed and formatted based on operational requirements. Users can create templates using quick-generated default fields or manually configure individual fields with custom styling options.

Add a Simple Invoice Template

Use this option to create a new invoice template.

Steps to Add a Simple Invoice Template

  1. Go to the Simple Invoice Template Editor page.
  2. Click Add New Template.
  3. Enter the required template details.
  4. Configure the invoice layout fields.
  5. Click Save Template.

Template Information

Template Name

Enter the invoice template name.

Examples:

  • Standard Invoice
  • Restaurant Invoice
  • Delivery Invoice

The template name helps identify the invoice format within the system.

Description

Enter a short description for the template.

Examples:

  • Default invoice layout for dine-in orders
  • Compact invoice format for takeaway billing

Descriptions help users understand the purpose of the template.

Generate Template Layout

Users can create invoice templates in two ways.

Quick Generate Template

Click Quick Generate to automatically create a default invoice template with commonly required fields.

Common generated fields include:

  • Business Name
  • Invoice Number
  • Order Details
  • Customer Information
  • Item List
  • Tax Details
  • Total Amount
  • Payment Information

Quick Generate helps users create a ready-to-use invoice layout quickly.

Add Individual Fields Manually

Users can manually create custom invoice fields.

Steps to Add Individual Fields

  1. Enter the Field Name.
  2. Select the Field Type.
  3. Select the Field Value Type.

Field Value Types

Static Value

Displays fixed text on the invoice.

Examples:

  • Thank You Visit Again
  • Tax Included
Dynamic Value

Displays system-generated values during billing.

Examples:

  • Invoice Number
  • Customer Name
  • Order Total
  • Payment Method

Dynamic fields automatically fetch live billing information during invoice generation.

Configure Field Styling

Users can customize the appearance of each invoice field.

Available Styling Options

Font Styling

  • Font Size
  • Font Weight

Display Settings

  • Display Style
  • Text Alignment
  • Text Direction

Border Settings

  • Text Border
  • Bottom Border

Margin Settings

  • Top Margin
  • Bottom Margin

Padding Settings

  • Top Padding
  • Bottom Padding

These styling options help create professional and customized invoice layouts.

Manage Added Fields

After configuring the field settings, click Add Field to add it to the template.

Users can manage added invoice fields using these actions:

  • Edit - Modify field details or styling settings.
  • Clone - Duplicate an existing field with the same configuration.
  • Move Upward / Downward - Rearrange the field position within the invoice layout.
  • Delete - Remove unwanted fields from the template.

These controls help users organize invoice designs efficiently.

Save the Invoice Template

After completing the template configuration:

  1. Review all invoice fields and layout settings.
  2. Click Save Template.

The invoice template will be saved successfully and displayed in the template list.

Edit a Simple Invoice Template

Use this option to modify an existing invoice template.

Steps to Edit a Template

  1. Open the Simple Invoice Template Editor page.
  2. Locate the template you want to update.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Update template details, field values, styling settings, or field order.
  5. Click Update.

The invoice template will be updated successfully.

Delete a Simple Invoice Template

Use this option to remove a template that is no longer required.

Steps to Delete a Template

  1. Go to the Simple Invoice Template Editor page.
  2. Find the template you want to remove.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Review the confirmation message.
  5. Click Delete to confirm.

The selected invoice template will be permanently removed from the system.

Note: Deleted templates cannot be recovered.

Clone an Invoice Template

Users can quickly duplicate an existing invoice template.

Steps to Clone a Template

  1. Open the Simple Invoice Template Editor page.
  2. Locate the template you want to duplicate.
  3. Click Clone.

A duplicate copy of the template will be created with the same fields and styling configuration.

Cloning helps users create multiple invoice variations without rebuilding the layout from scratch.

Set a Template as Default

Users can define a template as the default invoice format.

Steps to Set a Default Template

  1. Go to the Simple Invoice Template Editor page.
  2. Locate the required template.
  3. Click Set as Default.

The selected template will become the default invoice template used during invoice generation and billing.

Only one invoice template can be set as the default at a time.
